Leadership, dedication and confidence are just some of the qualities that make a stellar hockey coach. These qualities will be on constant display in Season Five of Hit The Ice. This year, John Chabot is joined by two other former NHLers whose willingness to bring each player to his full potential will impress and inspire viewers.
Personal Trainer and Performance Coach
Being an ex-Junior A' Hockey player, Neil Frotten has traveled the country playing and training for his sport. This experience alone has led him to believe in the power of feeling strong and functional through physical fitness. Before becoming a personal trainer, Frotten graduated from University of Ottawa in 2006 with a Degree in General Arts. He then became a certified Personal Trainer and Wellness Coach. Under the watchful eye of Functional Training guru, JC Santana, Neil also received his Functional Trainer and Performance Coach certification. Most notably, Neil also is a certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS) certified through the NSCA. Frotten currently trains 2 National Beach Volleyball athletes, a 2-time Red Bull Crashed Ice World Champion, the Gloucester Rangers Junior A’ Hockey team, a CIS Hockey Rookie of the Year recipient and many more. Frotten is passionate, intense and a great role model. Working with teams as well as individual athletes, Neil specializes in specific and detailed strength and conditioning. Co-owner of EPIC Fitness, Ottawa’s go-to functional facility for private personal training, Neil Frotten’s ultimate goal is to develop EPIC into an epicentre of talented Personal Trainers, to aid in the development of next level athletes and to continue to contribute to the ever-growing industry.
