COACHING EXPERIENCE

Team NWT, National Aboriginal Hockey Championships

Greg Hopft grew up playing minor hockey in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.   As a player, he’s participated in three Arctic Winter Games representing his territory.   His passion would lead him to be part of the Augustana University College hockey team in Camrose, Alberta.  With his playing days behind him, he returned home to apply his education to his career and is currently the Executive Director of the Aboriginal Sport Circle of the NWT, where he develops sport programs for all of the Communities in the NWT. Hopft is instrumental in developing children’s hockey skill in his local minor hockey association and also developing coaches with the Territories.  He has helmed Team NWT at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships for the last five years where Team North continues to improve in its standings each year.
