Leadership, dedication and confidence are just some of the qualities that make a stellar hockey coach. These qualities will be on constant display in Season Five of Hit The Ice. This year, John Chabot is joined by two other former NHLers whose willingness to bring each player to his full potential will impress and inspire viewers.
Assistant coach NHL: New-York Islanders
Head coach QMJHL: Acadie-Bathurst Titan and the Gatineau Olympiques
NHL PLAYER EXPERIENCE
Montreal Canadiens, Pittsburgh Penguins and the Detroit Red Wings
It is with great pleasure that we welcome back John Chabot as the head coach for season 2 of Hit The Ice. An Anishinabeg Algonquin from Kitigan Zibi, Qc, Chabot has played more than 500 games in the NHL with Montreal, Detroit, Pittsburgh and more than 300 games in Europe. When you add that to his coaching experience both in the junior ranks and the National Hockey League, it is safe to say that John has seen his fair share of hockey and knows exactly what it takes to be a pro. John is a natural leader, a good communicator and above all, he knows how to develop elite talent. This time around he will have to make tough decisions, as the team will dwindle down from 28 to 20 players in the first few days. John and his staff will then have 2 weeks to provide the remaining prospects with as much insight into the game as possible in order for them to be ready to play that final game.
