The Players

Hit The Ice season 7 regroups Canada’s most talented young Indigenous female hockey players and invites them to participate in a 2-week training camp that is a once-in-a-life-time opportunity to get recruited by a University team. The group will make lifelong friends, work harder than ever before, and meet professional coaches as well as current and former Olympic players.

From Ochapowace First Nation, Kirk Bear is a hardworking, well-versed and energetic D-man. Bear played his 2012-2013 season with Athol College of Notre Dame’s Midget AAA Argos where he contributed 22 points and 107 penalty minutes. Bear is praised for his leadership and outstanding character, which earned him the Notre-Dame award for most Dedicated Player of the year.  Bear was drafted in the USHL in May 2013, by the Omaha Lancers.
