The Players

Hit The Ice season 7 regroups Canada’s most talented young Indigenous female hockey players and invites them to participate in a 2-week training camp that is a once-in-a-life-time opportunity to get recruited by a University team. The group will make lifelong friends, work harder than ever before, and meet professional coaches as well as current and former Olympic players.

From Northern Quebec, Chewatin Blacksmith moved from home at an early age to pursue his dream of playing hockey. He scored 29 points in 28 games during his last year with the Midget AAA CIHA Voyageurs. Both a scholar and an athlete, Chewatin has been fortunate to be part of great hockey programs around the Ottawa area. In return, teams have been able to count on a speedy forward who lives to score goals and isn’t afraid to crash the net.
