Strength and conditioning coach, Ottawa Senators
Chris Schwarz is a strength and conditioning coach who has almost 20 years of experience working with pro athletes. Prior to being involved in hockey, Chris played pro volleyball both in France and Europe. Since retiring from volleyball , he has worked with NHL teams including the New York Islanders and the Ottawa Senators. In 1995, Schwarz achieved a bachelor of science in kinesiology at Dalhousie University in Halifax. Schwarz is the founder of Fitquest, a sports performance training and exercise rehabilitation facility in Ottawa. As conditioning coach his main objective is to prepare off-season training programs as well as test potential draft prospects and help facilitate development camps. He also works, in conjunction with the medical staff, on rehabilitating injured players during the season.
